I was in the middle of an important task today, very thought intensive, when a production system began to fail. Apparently someone decided it was time to upgrade a production dependency without telling anyone.
While I was working on a task important for our future, the present systems were under duress. I always feel these context switches are expensive. I equated it to jumping from one car to another, while each is traveling at a harrowing 60 miles per hour. Sometimes I hit my mark, other times I end up on the pavement. Luckily today I escaped with only a few scrapes and some lost ground on the future task.
I wish I could say tomorrow is another day, but sometimes the day just gets away from you and there isn't a guarantee that tomorrow will be any better.
