I am paralyzed sometimes that the code I am about to write will doom me to months of purgatorial maintenance. So I just sit there, staring at my editor, waiting for the right idea to come to me; as though a muse is sitting in the heavens waiting to visit my thoughts and excite my mental state. I just need to accept the fact that any code I write will never be perfect, but instead just needs to work. Giving up on perfection lets the keys on my keyboard create something good, and good is always a start to being great.
